The U.S. Treasury Department has frozen a cryptocurrency wallet holding over $350,000 linked to Russia-based Aeza Group, a bulletproof hosting provider accused of supporting cybercriminal operations. The sanctions target the group's infrastructure, which allegedly facilitated ransomware attacks and data theft.

Four Aeza Group officials—Penzev, Bozoyan, Gast, and Knyazev—were named by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) for their roles in the organization. The St. Petersburg-based firm provided anonymized servers to threat actors, including BianLian ransomware operators and info-stealer groups behind RedLine, Lumma, and Meduza.

The Treasury's action, coordinated with the UK's National Crime Agency, also sanctioned Aeza International Ltd., a British front company. Bulletproof hosting services remain a critical enabler for cybercriminals seeking to evade law enforcement.
